Here is my most recent piece “Within Your Loving Embrace”. It’s been awhile since I’ve created a Romantic piece portraying an Anthro Couple together. While this piece is a bit less controversial then my last piece “A Portrait and an Anthro Couple” in that it’s portraying a couple of similar looking species a Wolf and a Fox, I still really like it myself!

Portraiture is still my favorite means of expression, I’m still not exactly sure why, but I feel like it makes a piece much more personal, expressive, and dramatic, or it could be that it just works better with my artistic style and allows me more work area while detailing. Rather than having parts of my subjects an inch or less wide on my paper which is document sized.

This piece is also the first time I’ve done a group Portrait in color. I’m still working on improving and developing my coloring technique and it’s almost gotten to a point where it’s too complicated to explain my process haha. I haven’t really been trying to match the techniques of other artists out there, but rather, trying to develop my own and hopefully unique style. I like my muted colors and defined lines which I have in my work so that much will stay. I feel it gives it sort of a dreamy or historical feel, almost like a faded photograph. The use of the paper rather than completely covering it in color is another thing I love. I feel it gives the end piece an illustrative story book feel and it also increases the longevity of my art supplies.

Well, enough of my ramblings. In the end I am very happy with this piece, while not so much the poem I wrote to go with it haha. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I!
