Description

Part of my new years resolutions for 2017 is to continue venturing into new and sometimes personally feared subjects, feared not for being scary but rather feared for the subject matter portrayed at the risk of being personally labeled as one thing or anther or having my art thrown into a singular pile of things which not all people can relate to and or readily accept. I suppose that has been a personal struggle of mine throughout my whole art career thus far. This particular portrayal makes me wonder if it will target a different audience because, its portraying a relationship between a human and anthro creature opposed to two humans or two anthros. Does that throw this particular piece into a less repeatable and less acceptable genre?

I have created this piece without sexual intent but rather to show that love has no boundaries and when you have a fantasy setting to work in you can portray that in a much, much more dramatic way. After all, True love isn't about sexual relationships but rather the special relationship you have with someone else, the comradery, caring, and friendship or partnership the two of you share with one another. Not even propagation matters to the two I've portrayed here, them being of two separate species.

In the end I do like to leave my art up for interpretation and allow the viewer to develop their own stories to go along with what they see. Heh, I guess that may be part of the reason I fear my art may be interpreted wrongly? I've been aligning myself with some great writers I've been blessed to discover throughout the past year who share my same views and partly fears, in hopes that the combination of both Art and Word can help explain what they really want the viewer to interpret and possibly redefine some otherwise frowned upon subjects. Subjects which honestly get a bad rap because of being misunderstood or wrongly classified because of being too hastily judged and artists and writers becoming complacent in those judgments.

On a lesser note, I also went against some other typical aspects with this piece in the use of a Female character playing the part of the “Beast”, in popular culture a wolf is usually portrayed as the masculine male of the story. While flipping roles and stereotypes isn't really new to my art, its another thing which I try to do whenever I can. Animals have their own sets of traits that are not commonly perceived at first glance, just as us humans. It's my hope that my art brings out those traits for the viewer too enjoy.

As any artist out there its my goal for my work to have greater purpose and meaning than just being pretty to look at. I just hope that I'm accomplishing that.

Sorry for the little trip into my mind and dreams there, got a little more involved then I had originally planned ^_^' Thank you for reading it through though! And I hope you enjoy these two lovers. :)

There is no need to be afraid of your creativity. No matter how good or bad it is, there will always be supporters and opponents. And this means you need to create for yourself and your like-minded people, who will always support or correct if something is wrong.

As for the relationship between humans and anthropomorphic beings, this has always been a subjective opinion of man. Everyone has their own tastes and preferences. Someone sleeps and sees that anthropomorphic creatures have somehow appeared on our Earth, someone attributes their love to zoophilia, but this is an erroneous opinion, since if there is a human component in the beast, no matter in what form, then it can no longer be a full-fledged beast, which means that it bears the traits and characters of both, which allows it to be universal. In my opinion, this is very cool.
